Paying on YES24 Global TICKET: Which Cards Work

This is the third page in a series on YES24 Global TICKET. The pages before it cover the window as a whole and then the account and the identity check; this one covers only what happens at the payment step. Cancellation charges and refund timing are on the next page.

The FAQ and the purchase guide do not exclude the same cards, so this page names which page each rule comes from.

The card exclusion depends on which page you read

The FAQ answers the question directly: credit card payment is available except for the China Union Pay card. That is the whole exclusion on that page.

The purchase guide states it differently. Its wording is that credit card — except for American Express cards issued outside of Republic of Korea and China Union Pay cards — and PayPal are available for payment.

The safe reading is that a China Union Pay card is ruled out on each page, and that the guide additionally rules out American Express cards issued outside Korea.

Whichever card you use, the FAQ adds a step: for card payment on the global site, 3-D authentication is required, and it tells you to check whether you have 3-D authentication with your card company. That check happens with your issuer, not with YES24, so it is worth doing before the on-sale time rather than during it.

PayPal has a condition that has nothing to do with your account

PayPal is available, the FAQ says, only if there are more than 180 days left from the reservation date to the show date. That condition is about the calendar, not about you — for a show two months away, the option simply is not there.

It also carries its own charge. A 10-cent PayPal payment fee is charged, and the FAQ states that this fee is not refundable even if you cancel your booking. One more condition sits in the same answer: PayPal is not available when you book through the Customer Center.

One rule sits outside the table. The payment method cannot be changed after purchase: the FAQ says to cancel the ticket and re-book it instead, which is only possible before the purchase due date and may incur the cancellation fee.

If you switch a booking from Will Call to overseas delivery, you pay the delivery fee separately, and YES24 states that fee can only be paid by card.

The booking fee is stated twice, with two amounts

The answer text says every booking charges 2,000 KRW as a commission. The same answer then carries a change notice dated August 14, 2023 at 10:00 KST, moving the fee from 2,000 KRW to 3,000 KRW per ticket. The page does not settle which figure applies today. Its Terms and Conditions do not settle it either: Article 3 says a fee is added when a member books, and that the booking fee policy may be posted separately. Read the amount on the payment screen before you confirm.

What the page does settle is the deadline for getting the fee back. The booking fee can be refunded until 23:59 on the day of the purchasing, and otherwise it is impossible. That is a same-day window, tied to the purchase date rather than to the show.
