Kyung Hee Peace Hall Seating Plan: Three Different Counts

This page is for someone who has searched for a seating plan for 평화의전당, the Grand Peace Hall at Kyung Hee University, and found several different numbers. It sets out what each page publishes, what wording each attaches to its figure, and what was not found. Getting to the hall is covered in the other article in this series.

What the university publishes: 4,250, in three of its documents

The rental notice, posted on 2026-08-13, gives the hall as 좌석 4,250여석, about 4,250 seats. The 여 in that phrase means about or a little more, so even the university’s own figure is an approximation rather than a count.

The venue detail page gives it twice, and not in the same unit — 수용인원 최대 4,250명, a maximum capacity of 4,250 people, in its data row, and 4,250석의 객석, 4,250 seats, in its prose. The rental list of bookable Seoul campus spaces gives it again as 수용인원 : 4,250석.

So 4,250 is not one document’s figure. It is the number the university repeats across three of its own, and the wordings are not one per document: 여석 in the notice, 명 and 석 on the venue page, 석 again on the rental list.

Three published counts, but two publishers

The two larger figures both come from NOL World, the ticket seller. Its magazine article, dated 2024-09-10, gives the hall “a seating capacity of 4,400”. Its venue page for the same building says the venue “can accommodate 4,500 people”, and prints no date at all.

Across the pages read here that is three figures from two publishers. NOL World gives a different number on each of its own two pages. Set out as three sources they would look further checked than they are.

The wording differs as much as the numbers, and that is the part worth carrying away. 여석 marks an approximation. “Seating capacity” names seats. “Accommodate” does not separate seats from standing room. Four of the pages read here do say their figure is seats; what none of them says is whether that count takes in standing room as well, so the three may not be describing the same room.

For someone holding a ticket, none of the three settles anything: the row and seat number are on the ticket, not on these pages. If you need a figure for the hall itself, take the university’s — it runs the building, and it is the figure that repeats.

Where a seat plan is not

The pages that describe this hall give a capacity figure and the kind of space it is, and little else about the room. None of the six places searched here carries an audience seating chart, and of the two images that might have been one, the one that still loads is a campus guide map.

That is a statement about those pages rather than about the university. Rental applications go to a single email address, and a chart of that kind could sit behind that address rather than on a public page.

Which room your ticket names

The same rental list carries eight more Seoul campus spaces that print a single capacity figure, and the gap in size is wide. Among those, the largest after this hall is 크라운관 (Keuraun-gwan) at 542 seats, more than seven times smaller. A ticket naming one of them is a different room, not a different door into this one.

Of the sixteen spaces on that list, nine print a single figure like those. Three more print a range instead; the list files those three as 강의시설, lecture rooms. The last four print nothing at all, and those are filed 체육시설, sports facilities. So the list cannot be put in order end to end.

What the list does settle is the kind of space each one is. 평화의전당 is the one entry it files as 공연시설, a performance facility; the eight below it are filed 강당시설, an auditorium.

Matching a Korean name on a ticket against the campus map is harder than it looks, because the two documents name different things. The rental list lets rooms — 오비스홀 151호 (ORBIS Hall, room 151), 청운관 B117호, 네오르네상스관 네오누리 — while the map numbers the buildings those rooms sit in. For seven of the nine the building is on the map, so 청운관 B117호 is a room in 17 Cheongwoon Building and 네오르네상스관 네오누리 one in 15 Neo-Renaissance Building. For 리싸이틀홀 (Rissaiteul-hol) and 약학관 B301호 (Yakhak-gwan, room B301) no entry on the map carries that name, and there the Korean on the ticket is what to match.
