What this page answers
- My show is on a Sunday or Monday. When is my real deadline? 11 am on the Saturday before it, which for those two days can be more than two days ahead. A show on Tuesday through Saturday runs until 5 pm on the day before. Cancellation is not available on holidays. The deadline
- I bought the ticket yesterday. Is cancelling free? No cancellation fee applies within seven days of the purchase date, but the deadline rules still apply, so a show happening inside those seven days can close the window first. From day 8 a schedule takes over, and its “(But, 10% of paid amount)” line has no stated condition attached. What it costs
- Do I get the booking fee back? Only on the day you paid it: refundable until 23:59 on the day of the purchasing, and otherwise impossible. The delivery charge is not refunded for a ticket that was delivered or returned. What it costs
- How long until the money comes back? Cards take three to seven days, with the date set by your card company. PayPal splits: back to a card within 30 days, to a PayPal balance within five business days. How long the money takes
- Does this schedule apply to my show? Not necessarily. The FAQ states each show sets its own cancellation policy, so the figures here are the operator’s default. What it costs
This is the fourth page in a series on YES24 Global TICKET, after the window as a whole, the account and the payment step. It covers cancelling a booking you made on the global site.
The deadline is set by the show’s day of the week
Two rules cover most shows. For a show on Tuesday through Saturday, cancellation is available until 5 pm on the day before the show. For a show on Sunday or Monday, the deadline is 11 am on the Saturday before it — which can be more than two days ahead of the performance.
Holidays are handled separately. YES24 states that cancellation is not available on holidays, and that a show falling on the day after a holiday follows the two rules above. Once the deadline has passed, the FAQ is blunt that cancellation is no longer possible.

The FAQ gives these deadlines as clock times without naming a time zone. If you are booking from another time zone, that is worth resolving with the operator rather than assuming.
What cancelling costs
The first week is free. YES24 states that no cancellation fee applies within seven days of the purchase date. From the eighth day, a schedule takes over, and the amount depends on how far the show still is.
| When you cancel | What the FAQ states |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days of the purchase date | No cancellation fee |
| From day 8, until 10 days before the show | Musical, concert, classical and ballet: 4,000 KRW per ticket. Other genres: 2,000 KRW per ticket. The page adds “(But, 10% of paid amount)” without stating when that applies |
| 9 to 7 days before the show | 10% of the paid amount |
| 6 to 3 days before the show | 20% of the paid amount |
| 2 to 1 days before the show | 30% of the paid amount |
The parenthetical “(But, 10% of paid amount)” carries no stated condition — the page does not say whether it replaces the flat amount, caps it, or applies to a particular case. For an expensive seat the difference between 4,000 KRW and 10% is large, so read the cancellation screen before confirming.
Two other charges follow their own rules. The booking fee can be refunded only until 23:59 on the day you bought it, and after that the FAQ says it is impossible. The delivery charge is not refunded for a ticket that has been delivered or returned.
How long the money takes
For card payments, YES24 says a cancellation after payment takes three to seven days, and adds that the refund date depends on each card company’s policy, telling you to call the company for details. It also says that if you cancel orders after payment with a card charge, it will be deducted next month.
PayPal splits by how you funded it. A payment made with a credit or debit card goes back to that card within 30 days. A payment made from a PayPal balance or a bank transfer goes back to the PayPal balance within five business days. If you cancel more than a day after the original payment, PayPal’s exchange rate on the refund date applies, including its currency conversion spread.
The show can override all of this
YES24 states plainly that each different show has a different cancellation policy, and tells you to check the policy for the relevant show. Treat every figure above as the default the operator publishes, not as a promise about your booking.
This series does not cover reselling a ticket you can no longer use, or any route around a closed deadline.
My show falls on a public holiday. Can I cancel on the day?
No. The FAQ states that cancellation is not available on holidays. A show falling on the day after a holiday goes back to the two weekday rules — 5 pm the day before, or 11 am on Saturday.
How much do I lose if I cancel in the last week?
The FAQ’s bands are 10% of the paid amount from 9 to 7 days before the show, 20% from 6 to 3 days, and 30% in the last two days. After the deadline the FAQ says cancellation is no longer possible at all.
The card has already been charged. When does the money come off?
The FAQ says that if you cancel orders after payment with a card charge, it will be deducted next month, and that the refund itself takes three to seven days with the date set by your card company’s policy.
Why is my PayPal refund smaller than what I paid?
The FAQ says that beyond one day from the original payment, PayPal’s transaction exchange rate on the refund date applies, including a currency conversion spread. It also notes the 10-cent PayPal payment fee is not refundable.
