Kyung Hee Peace Hall: Which Campus, Which Gate, Which Train

This page is for someone who already holds a ticket printed 경희대학교 평화의전당, the Grand Peace Hall at Kyung Hee University. It covers landing on the right campus, getting from the subway to the hall, which gate the hall stands by, what a bus costs, and how to read the last-train board by destination when a show finishes late. Buying the ticket belongs to whichever seller your show uses, so that is not covered here. Read it before you set off, because the wrong campus is a different city rather than a longer walk.

Which campus: three Peace names, one concert hall

Kyung Hee University has three campuses, and each of the three campus maps read here numbers one building with Peace in its name. On the Seoul campus that building is number 41, 평화의 전당, which the English map writes as Grand Peace Hall. On the Global campus in Yongin it is number 29, 평화노천극장, written Peace Amphitheater. On the Gwangneung campus it is number 7, 평화의 탑, written Peace Tower.

Those three English names are not the same name. What they share is the word Peace, and that is enough to bring them up together when you search.

The university gives the Seoul campus as 26, Kyungheedae-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, and the Global campus as 1732, Deogyeong-daero, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. Seoul and Yongin are separate cities, so arriving at the wrong one is not something a longer walk fixes. The Korean name of the Yongin venue carries 노천, open-air, while the Seoul hall is indoors.

The Seoul campus has an Amphitheater of its own as well, number 32, 노천극장 in Korean. That is one word away from the Yongin venue’s name, so read the campus before the building.

Two of the university’s own documents write this hall differently in English. The English campus map calls it Grand Peace Hall. The rental guidelines dated 2024-06-15 write the building as 평화의전당(Grand Peace Palace at Kyung Hee University), and NOL World’s venue page uses that second form. Neither is a mistake, so a search on either name is pointing at the same building.

One warning in circulation gets the geography wrong. NOL World’s magazine, dated 2024-09-10 in its own page data, tells readers to take care not to confuse the venue with what it calls the university’s other campus, “which is located in Suwon, just outside of Seoul”. The advice is sound and the city is not: the university’s own address puts that campus in Giheung-gu, Yongin.

Getting there: Hoegi Station exit 1 and village bus 01

The university’s English campus page routes an arriving traveller from the airport in three moves. Take the airport line towards Seoul Station from Incheon International Airport exit 3, transfer to subway Line 1, and get off at 회기역 (Hoegi Station). From exit 1 it names mini bus 01 to the university. It names that sequence without fares or departure times, and the fares and last departures on the routes in from Incheon Airport are set out separately.

The hall’s own directions notice adds the part the campus map leaves out. It gives 1호선 회기역 1번 출구, Line 1 at Hoegi exit 1, and separately 중앙선 회기역 1번 출구 for the other platform. That second line is written 중앙선 on the notice; in the station numbering it is K118, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. Either platform sends you out of the same exit 1.

The same notice puts that bus at 회기역 1번 출구 앞, in front of that exit, and names its stop as 경희의료원 (Kyung Hee University Medical Center). It writes the bus as 마을버스 01, a village bus, where the English campus page writes mini bus 01. That stop is inside the campus, but it is the hospital rather than the hall, so a walk remains.

How long that walk takes is not something the Kyung Hee pages read here answer. The three English campus map pages, the Korean numbered facility lists, the hall’s own directions notice and the venue detail page carry no minutes and no distance between either station and the hall.

The only two figures on the pages read here belong to NOL World rather than to the university. Its venue page gives a 20 minute walk from 외대앞역 (Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies Station) Exit 1. Its magazine, dated 2024-09-10, puts the walk from 회기역 (Hoegi) to the concert hall at about 25 minutes.

That magazine does call 회기역 (Hoegi) the closest station, but it makes that comparison from 정문 (the main gate), which is not the side the hall stands on. Its 25 minute figure is written station to hall, without naming a gate. It also recommends a local bus in the hot summer or winter months. Its warning about the path is attached to the other station: if using 외대앞역 (Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies), it says, the path to the concert hall is a bit steep, so wear comfortable shoes. That warning is written for the 외대앞역 (Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies) route rather than the 회기역 (Hoegi) one the university’s pages give. The campus map pages and the hall’s own directions notice say nothing about a slope.

Which gate: the hall stands by the back gate

The campus guide map image, opened in a browser on 2026-09-01, settles this. The hall sits at the top right of that map with the 후문 (back gate) label beside it, while 정문 (the main gate) is at the bottom left, on the opposite side of the campus. So a taxi or a meeting point set at 정문 (the main gate) puts the whole campus between you and the doors.

The numbering on the campus map runs the same way. Grand Peace Hall is number 41 and 후문 (Back Gate) is number 45, while 정문 (Main Gate) is number 1, at the other end of the list.

This is also why a second station keeps appearing. NOL World’s magazine says in the same breath that 외대앞역 (Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies Station), also on Line 1, is nearer to 후문 (the back gate), and its venue page measures that 20 minute walk from there. The Kyung Hee pages read here route you to 회기역 (Hoegi) instead.

Buses: which stop, what fare, and why to search by number

The directions notice does two things with buses, and they do not line up route by route. Three lines of prose sit above the table. The first sends 마을버스 01 (village bus 01) to 경희의료원 (Kyung Hee University Medical Center). The next two send routes 273 and 201 to 경희대 입구 (the university entrance), and routes 120, 147, 261, 273 and 1222 to 경희중고 (Kyung Hee Middle and High School). The table below lists one row per route, and its 정류장명 (stop name) column puts those same five routes at 회기시장 (Hoegi Market) instead.

So one official notice gives route 273 three different stop names. They are 경희대 입구 (the entrance) and 경희중고 (the school) in the prose, and 회기시장 (Hoegi Market) in the table. The notice does not say whether those are alternative stops along one route or a mismatch between its two halves. Either way the stop name is not the thing to search on. Only 201 lands on the same stop in each half, and counting 경희의료원 (the medical centre) where the village bus ends, four stop names appear across the notice. Search by route number instead.

The table’s fourth column is the headway, and every route carries one. Six of the seven rows run every 4 to 15 minutes, and N13 is the longest at 40 to 45. What the notice leaves out is distance, any ranking of the stops, and the hours each route runs.

The table’s 경유노선 (route) column lists N13’s stops, running from 노원 (Nowon) at one end to 복정 (Bokjeong) at the other, with 회기시장 (Hoegi Market) in the middle. The notice prints no hours of operation for it, so nothing here shows whether it runs after the last train.

The fare is not the university’s to set, which is why the directions notice and the campus map pages carry none. Seoul’s official English travel page lists the fare by bus type instead. A Town Bus, which is what the notice calls 마을버스 01, costs KRW 1,200 for an adult, the same by card or in cash. A Blue trunk bus or Green branch bus costs KRW 1,500 for an adult. The same table carries a Late-night Bus category at KRW 2,500 for an adult, and nothing in the pages read here connects N13 to it.

Two asterisks travel with those figures. Tmoney card users receive a KRW 100 discount, which that page does not reconcile against its own table. Up to four transfers between buses, or between bus and subway, are free for Tmoney users who scan the card on the reader when getting off. Both limits run from that tap: 30 minutes, and 10 km. Between 21:00 and 07:00 the next day the page gives an hour instead, and that is the window a late show puts you in. Which of those types the numbered routes belong to is not something the pages read here say.

Getting home: three lines, and a last train per destination

Three lines call at Hoegi: Line 1 as station 123, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line as K118, and the Gyeongchun Line as P118. The station timetable then posts a last train for each destination rather than one for the station.

On a weekday, the last Line 1 down train leaves at 22:55:30 toward 서동탄 (Seodongtan). The last Gyeongui-Jungang down train leaves at 00:05:00 toward 용산 (Yongsan). Those two trains end in different places, so the roughly 70 minutes between them is not 70 extra minutes on the way to one destination.

The latest time anywhere in that table is 00:14:30, and it belongs to Line 1 in the up direction, toward 광운대 (Gwangundae). It is an up-direction service while the two times above are down-direction ones, so reading a time without its destination puts you on the wrong platform. The Gyeongchun Line’s last up service, toward 청량리 (Cheongnyangni), leaves at 23:31:00 on a weekday.

Reading a line rather than a destination misleads in the same way. On the Gyeongchun Line the last service down is not the one toward 춘천 (Chuncheon) at 22:18:30 but a later one toward 마석 (Maseok) at 23:48:30, ninety minutes after it. On Saturdays and holidays that later service is printed as terminating at 평내호평 (Pyeongnaehopyeong) at 23:43:30 instead. Check which of those termini is yours.

The source posts three separate tables, for weekdays, Saturdays and public holidays; at Hoegi the Saturday and holiday figures happen to match, which is why the table above carries them in one column. A Saturday does not simply run earlier. The last Line 1 down service changes destination on a Saturday, going toward 병점 (Byeongjeom) at 22:57:30, two minutes later than the weekday 22:55:30. The train toward 서동탄 (Seodongtan) moves the other way, to 22:25:30, half an hour earlier than on a weekday. The holiday table prints the same two times. The Gyeongui-Jungang service toward 용산 (Yongsan) barely moves at all, from 00:05:00 to 00:04:30.

Two limits come with all of these times. The timetable names terminus stations and not the stops along the way, so match the terminus against your own destination in a map app before you trust a time. And a blank is not a zero: where the Saturday table has no row for a destination, such as the Gyeongui-Jungang service toward 일산 (Ilsan), the figure is absent rather than earlier.
