Goyang Stadium Seating Chart: Blocks, Grades, Colours

This page is for someone holding a ticket to a show at 고양종합운동장, the Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsanseo-gu, who wants to line up what is printed on that ticket with the charts the venue publishes. Getting to the ground and getting home again is the first article in this series. The venue publishes its seating in Korean, and the English wording below is ours. The two charts below were read from the operator’s own seating page on 2026-08-30.

The venue publishes two charts of the same stands

The seating page carries two diagrams rather than one. 구역별 좌석안내도 is the block chart, which names every block. 등급별 좌석안내도 is the grade chart, which paints the same stands by grade.

They are not two different rooms drawn twice. Both charts read here split the stands into the same four sectors and the same blocks; what changes between them is what the colours stand for. The sector labels on each are SECTOR W 서/西, SECTOR N 북/北, SECTOR E 동/東 and SECTOR S 남/南 — west, north, east and south.

The letters are not arranged the way a map would arrange them. On the image, W runs along the top, N is at the right, E along the bottom and S at the left. No compass marker was visible on either chart read here, so go by the sector letter on your ticket rather than by which way is up.

How the block numbers run inside each sector

Each sector is two rings deep: an inner ring nearer the field, and an outer ring behind it. The numbering fills the inner ring first, and the outer ring carries on from where the inner ring stops. The same rule holds in all four sectors.

That puts W1 and W2 on the inside with W3 to W8 behind them. N runs N1 to N5 inside and N6 to N11 behind. E runs E1 to E6 inside and E7 to E12 behind. S runs S1 to S5 inside and S6 to S11 behind. Across the four sectors that is 42 blocks on the charts read here.

So a higher number inside your sector means the outer ring, not a seat further along the same row. W7 is in the ring behind, not next to W2.

W is the odd one for shape. Its inner ring is two blocks rather than five or six, and each of the two runs much longer than an inner block anywhere else on the chart. A white rectangle is drawn inside each of them, and neither chart read here labels those rectangles.

The three grades the grade chart prints

The legend on 등급별 좌석안내도 lists three labels and stops there: A석, B석 and C석, where 석 (seok) simply means seat. Each label is painted onto whole blocks rather than onto part of one.

A석 covers eight blocks — W1 and W2, plus E1 to E6. C석 covers twelve, N6 to N11 and S6 to S11. B석 takes the twenty-two in between: W3 to W8, N1 to N5, E7 to E12 and S1 to S5. Those add back to the 42 blocks the block chart names, which is how the two readings check each other.

Read as a shape, the inner rings of the two long sides are A석. The outer rings of the long sides and the inner rings of the short sides are B석, and the outer rings of the short sides are C석. That summary is ours. The chart paints the blocks and does not write the rule out.

VIP석, R석 and S석 do not appear on either chart read here. The letter can mislead across venues, too: KSPO Dome’s operator publishes grade names of its own, and its FAQ gives VIP석, R석, S석 and A석 as the usual set, decided for each show. At Goyang the three labels sit on fixed blocks of the stands themselves.

Neither chart read here carries a price, a sightline note or a description of the view. A label on them tells you which blocks share it, and nothing beyond that.

The same colour means two different things

Colour is the quickest thing to read on a chart, and here it is the easiest to get wrong, because the two charts use the same palette for two different jobs.

On the block chart the colour marks the sector: W is orange, N olive, E magenta and S teal. On the grade chart the colour marks the grade: A석 teal, B석 magenta, C석 olive. Three of the four sector colours come back on the grade chart meaning something else.

Teal is the sharpest case. On the block chart, teal is the S sector, the short side at the left of the image. On the grade chart, teal is A석 — and A석 is W1, W2 and E1 to E6, with no block in S at all. Carrying a colour across from one chart to the other puts you in the wrong stand entirely — the short side at the left, when every A석 block is on one of the two long sides.

Orange is the only sector colour with no partner on the grade side. Line the two charts up by block name, never by colour.

What the charts leave to the show

Several things a ticket holder looks for are not settled by these two charts.

The first is the concert layer. NOL World’s page for this venue says that, depending on the performance, tickets may carry colours such as red, green or blue, and that signs marking each colour lead to the gate nearest your seat. Those colours are not printed on either chart read here. On the night, the colour is what the signs answer to; the block name is what these charts answer to.

The second is the view. The same seating page carries a third resource under the heading 좌석별 전경, seat-by-seat views: a plan with clickable points, each opening a photo taken from one block. The points carry the operator’s own block names — W5, W8, N3, N8, E3, S1, S3, S5, S6, S8, S9 and S11. That is 12 of the 42 blocks the charts read here name, over 13 links, because W8 appears twice at different coordinates. The blocks not in that list have no view photo on the page read here.

The third is the ring of numbered markers drawn around the outside of the block chart. Each is a circle with a number in it and a triangle pointing at the stands, coloured to match its sector. The numbers repeat between sectors: 1 to 6 appear in W and again in E, and E also carries 7 and 8. The page read here gives no legend for these markers. A number printed on your ticket cannot be matched to one of them from these charts alone.

One more thing sits on the page rather than on the charts. The seat-count table lists the ground by category. It gives VIP석 160, 중계방송석 240 for broadcast and 기자석 54 for press, with 이동식 (movable) marked against those two, plus 장애인석 94 for accessible seating and 일반석 40,403 general. Those entries are counts rather than positions. If your ticket is for one of those categories, settle where it sits with whoever sold it to you rather than from these charts.
